FRIDAY
WUTHERING FRIGHTS
If you’re in the mood for a good gothic thriller, like something the Bronte sisters might have conjured up, then Wuthering Frights is the night out for you. This is a collaboration between Infinite Monkeys and the Kinkonauts, Calgary’s leading improv company.
Someone in the audience gives the actors a plot suggestion which they run with. In this atmospheric setting, the characters confront monsters both literal and metaphorical, unveiling layers of passion, intrigue, and the perpetual struggle between light and shadow. The stormy night may yet reveal a glimmer of hope, illuminating the hidden recesses of the mysterious tale.

SURPRISED BY LOVE
Everyone gets surprised in Surprised by Love, including the audience and the performers because this is another improvised storytelling courtesy of Infinite Monkeys and the Kinkonauts.
The audience gives the six actors a suggestion for a romantic comedy and they incorporate all the tropes of the genre. Watch as old flames push past the barriers that kept them apart to rekindle the fire that once was, or gig city girls return home to meet the man, or woman, of their dreams.
Surprised by Love reflects the hope, the quirky humour, and the indefinable joy of falling in love in the most unlikely circumstances.
It takes place nightly at 6 p.m. in the basement of The Next Page bookstore at 1217A 9th Ave. S.E. among the stacks of countless romantic novels.
SATURDAY
FULL CIRCLE JOY
For the final performances of this solo show, Sophie May Healey takes over for Kunji Ikeda, in a performance that promises dancing chickens, Beethoven, and mischievous ogres whose mission it will be to unravel the difficult journey to joy and contentment, all in the time it takes to cook the perfect pot of rice.

This hilarious, thoughtful one-person performance unleashes two thoughts head to head: “Good Vibes Only” vs “The Way We’ve Always Done It.” Consent culture and trauma-informed practices gently invite audience participation to complete the circle and spark community joy.
Join Healey and her dancing chickens in Festival Hall at 6:45 p.m.
YOU’RE DRIVING ME CRAZY
Sibling dynamics are always difficult. Cramming them into a small car that smells like stale French fries for a six-hour road trip can make them even trickier. Sisters Jen and Penny seem to have found themselves in that very car and, to make it worse, they are terribly late for a wedding they don’t want to attend.
Join Alison Bloxham and Stephanie Alexandre as what’s meant to be a pleasant drive down memory lane turns into a disaster of cosmic proportions, while perspectives clash, secrets are spilled, and tensions bubble over, all inside their blue 2006 Honda Civic.
Buckle your seatbelts, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride in the Woods Home theatre at 7:15 p.m.
