Russell aced that 168-yard assignment with one smooth swing of a seven-iron.
Junior sharpshooter Scarlett Rommens made short work of No. 8 on Highwood’s Spitzee Course. The 11-year-old Rommens didn’t require a putter after sinking an amazing eight-iron from 108 yards out.

Theresa Newby, a member at Carnmoney, recently carded her sixth career hole-in-one. It’s fitting that Newby notched her latest on No. 6 at her home hangout, where she drained a nifty nine-iron from 130 yards away.
Laurence Heinen is an ace sportswriter, covering the Calgary Stampede rodeo and chuckwagon action for Postmedia and numerous other events as a contributor for Canadian Press. He can now say he’s an ace golfer, too, after swishing his 130-yard tee-shot — an impressive eight-iron — on No. 13 on the Forest Course at Glencoe, where he also works as a players’ assistant.
Sarah Huber buried a beauty on No. 16 at Shaganappi Point, scribbling a ‘1’ on her scorecard after an awesome eight-iron from the 106-yard blocks.
Brandon Moore and Trevor Gillespie can swap stories after both aced No. 15 at Maple Ridge. Moore was accurate with an eight-iron from 168 yards, while Gillespie potted a pitching wedge from a distance of 125.
Michael Chen will be saying only good things about his five-iron, his weapon of choice for a 170-yard memory-maker on No. 7 on Shaganappi’s Valley Nine.

Emma Saunders slugged a six-hybrid on Fox Hollow’s fourth hole and her aim was outstanding from 109 yards away.
Susan Wylie and Barry Schlacter could have split the clubhouse tab after same-day aces at Redwood Meadows. Wylie was spot-on with a six-iron on No. 12, which was playing 123 yards, while Schlacter completed his personal hole-in-one hat-trick thanks to a nice nine-iron from 136 yards on No. 15.

Harbinder Luddu was perfect with a pitching wedge on the fourth hole on McCall Lake’s Par-3 Course. That assignment spans 100 yards.
Adam Robertson and Matthew Vanderland weren’t intimidated by the water on the splashy eighth at McCall Lake. Robertson powered a pitching wedge across the pond and was right on target from 147 yards away. Vanderland cranked an eight-iron and then made the 128-yard commute to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup.
Danny James cruised through No. 4 at Carnmoney, finishing his business with a wicked wedge that covered 101 yards.
Johnny MacDougall mastered the fifth hole on Highwood’s Spitzee Nine. Six-iron was the right call for a 165-yard challenge.
